My makeup bag is a sacred place. A place where only my most prized products have leg room to stretch out and not fear their removal. In hopes to really scale down my makeup, I've been saying 'farewell' to some of my old products that have acquired dust on their packaging.
As times goes by, I'll always had a little place in my heart for these 5 products:
L'oreal Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara: As much as people swear by some high end mascaras, I must say this one has forever stolen my lashes heart. I've tried some high end mascaras (i.e.: Benefit's 'They're Real' and 'Roller Lash' / Urban Decay's 'Perversion'), but they don't seem to compete with my Telescopic. This wand not only distributes the product without clumping (ew), but it has given my lashes even more length. I've even had a few friends compliment my extra long lashes. Score.
Benefit Posietint: When I first tried this product, I was at a photo shoot. At the shoot it was used as a lip stain and was a buildable poppy pink that gave my lips just the right amount of natural flush without the hassle of a lipstick. I loved how it doubles as a lip and cheek stain because hey those kind of products are my absolute fav. Hint: Get the sample size bottle - it's way easier to carry around in your purse.
Makeup For Ever HD Foundation in 118: Lately I've been in the habit of testing out a variety of liquid foundations. For over a year, I was hooked on IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream, but wanted to change up my routine for the fall. Enter: Makeup For Ever. I've always wanted to give this product a whirl and when we finally got a Sephora (hallelujah), I made a point to get color matched. I absolutely love this foundation. A lot. It's light enough to feel super natural, but still has buildable coverage to cover up my inevitable dark circles. Tip: Pair this product with a BeautyBlender for an airbrushed look.
Benefit Brow Zings in medium: What was my life like pre-bold brows? It's actually shocking to look at photos of myself before I filled in my brows since it's such a standard part of my every day beauty routine. You know how people can't leave home without mascara? Well for me, I can't leave home without at least giving my brows some extra color. This product is always part of my makeup routine. I love how the compact has a gel and a powder to give my brows a long wear stay. I use my Anastasia duo brow brush and dip it in the gel once, then twice in the powder, tap well and start by tracing the bottom brow line. I then go back and trace the top brow line and start filling in the brow with tiny brush strokes - the natural, the better. I finish off by taking the spoolie and gently brushing out any harsh lines. Stay tuned: I might just have to do a brow tutorial.
Anastasia Contour Kit in light to medium: For my birthday last year, my best girl friends got me the most talked about contour kit - Anastasia of Beverly Hills. Honestly, I can't tell you enough how much I love this kit. It not only can give me a natural every day contour, but if I want to kick it up a notch my cheek bones are off the charts or on fleek or whatever is hip these days.
