Refocus Your Energy On You
Sometimes all it takes to get back on track is some good quality ‘you’ time. No phone, no laptop, no Netflix, no distraction; just you and your thoughts.
I think it’s important to find time in your day to ditch your iPhone. You’ll automatically feel more refreshed, rejuvenated or whatever you want to call it than ever. Trust me - just give it a try. A 30 minute solo walk or run, a trip to Barnes & Noble to grab a coffee and linger through the book-filled aisles or just a long drive with the windows down is all it takes to refocus your energy.
I’ve struggled with anxiety for pretty much as long as I can remember. As outgoing and as talkative as I am, I could easily be considered an outgoing-introvert. I thrive off my ‘me’ time because it’s the only way I can sort out my thoughts and the stressors in my life. Being an avid runner, I’ve always felt like running was my outlet to release stress. There have been plenty of times where I’ve had friends ask me if I wanted a running buddy, but I’ve turned them down. It might sound rude, but running is my thing. It’s the road, my music and my thoughts. To feel like I must entertain someone along the run is something I’m just not into. Whether I need a long run, a drive on the Parkway or a quick trip to a coffee shop to write down my thoughts – my ‘me’ time is extremely important to me. I savor it. I thrive off it.
No matter if you’re having a good day, bad day or just need some time quiet time– always make sure you ink it in. It’s a nice little refresher you won’t regret taking.
