Sup, 26. It's official, I'm a year older. It wasn't necessarily the best start to a birthday, but hey things happen. Onward and upward as they would say, right? I don't know, it's something like that. I must say I'm so excited for new adventures. With big things on the horizon, new travels inked on the calendar, and some exciting news I have yet to spill (ekkkkk sometimes things really do happen for a reason!) -- the big 2-6 is sure to be one hell of a year! But before I kick it off, of course I have to share with you all a few of my favorite things...as of lately.
Things I'm Into:
Alright, so it's pretty obvious I'm a workout fiend. From spin class to long distance runs, my cross-training regime was missing a little something-something, if ya know what I mean. Cue: pilates. After a trip to Buffalo during the holidays, I got into pilates thanks to my sister-in-law -- shout out to Tessa! I struggle with anxiety so having some 'me-time' to really focus on breathing, stretching, and just being calm is exactly what I needed in my life. Running and cycling are amazing, but pilates really gives my mind a little reset. The full body workout and the abs, legs, & butt work outs are my favorites.
Watching:
To know me is to know that I'm addicted to Bravo. Yes, Vanderpump Rules and Summer House (you must give it a watch!) are at the top of my list, but I've recently been diving back into vintage Sex & the City episodes because well, I love Carrie Bradshaw. Given. Oh and if you're into the Great Gatsby, you must give Z: The Beginning of Everything a watch on Amazon Prime! It's all about the life of F. Scott Fitzgerald and his wife Zelda and their tumultuous relationship that really inspired a lot of his career.
Wearing:
Thanks to a good friend, I got a subscription to Birchbox! YES! Not only am I obsessed with the brand (total marketer move), but as a beauty and makeup product hoarder -- it's seriously been the perfect gift. A few of my favorites in my January box are this leave-in conditioner (it actually smells like cotton candy) and this dry shampoo, which just so happens to be a cult favorite in the beauty world.
Oh if you're into giving your outfits a little more edge - I love these ear crawlers.
I made this soup a few weeks ago, but with the temps dropping below 50 degrees in Charlotte (wait where did winter go?) this weekend - this recipe is going to make a comeback.
A few songs I've been playing on repeat:
- "Reminder" by The Weeknd
- "Some Kind of Drug" - G-Eazy
- "Wild Horses - Attom remix" - Bishop Briggs
- "1957" - Milo Greene (I kind of forgot how much I love this band. If you like this song you'll totally love this compilation in film form)
