I'm girly. Yes, very girly. When it comes to Halloween costumes, I'm guilty for being a little too into being a Disney princess versus a spooky zombie. This Halloween, my girly behavior didn't disappoint. I was Dorothy.
But first, I needed sparkly red shoes. Instead of coughing up $40+ on a pair of red glitter heels that I most likely will only wear once, I opted for the Goodwill route. Here's how I made my own glitter shoes for under $15!
Side note: I might justify wearing these during the upcoming holidays! They're way too appropriate.
Need:
Shoes; I got these red patent leather kitten heels at Goodwill for $3!
Red glitter
Mod Podge
Paint brush
Clear acrylic sealer
Directions:
In a cup, mix Mod Podge and red glitter. Add more glitter than you think you should.
Add tissue paper into soles to avoid a glitter mess.
Paint mixture on shoes. Let dry - about 25 minutes.
Keep layering until you get the results you want. I added about 4 layers.
Let dry. Spray with acrylic sealer. Let dry.
Enjoy your Dorothy-esque shoes!
